Surrounded by more than a dozen University of Hartford nursing students, Governor Ned Lamont chose the Immersive Simulation Suite in the Hursey Center to announce Connecticut’s participation in compact aimed at alleviating a nationwide nursing shortage.
The news conference was attended by all four local TV stations as well as other print and digital media. Lamont was joined by Department of Public Health Commissioner Manisha Juthani and other health care officials.
In her introductory remarks, Edith Ouellet, executive director and chair of the nursing department, called the Multi-State Nurse Licensure Compact “a milestone for nursing in Connecticut.”
