One of Hartt’s ensembles, Foot in the Door, will hold a concert on Tuesday, March 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Lincoln Theater.
The program, “American Modernism and Its Legacy,” includes works by Charles Ives, Dorothy Rudd Moore, Elliott Carter, and Leonard Bernstein. In addition to these indispensable American composers who should never be forgotten, the concert will also feature new works by two of our own Hartt students: Joe Dunkelberg and Jingxian Chen.
Foot in the Door is a mixed ensemble of musicians whose repertoire includes music of established as well as emerging 20th- and 21st-century composers. Members play in a variety of ensemble sizes from small chamber groups to large chamber orchestras.
The concert is free to the public and will also be live-streamed.
