The University of Hartford women’s basketball team treated the home Chase Arena crowd on Wednesday evening to a 64–55 victory over the University of New England in the opening round of the 2026 Conference of New England Women’s Basketball Championship.
The Hawks, seeded fourth in the tournament, will travel to Providence on Friday evening to tip off against top-seeded Johnson & Wales University. Game time is 5:30 p.m. (admission is free for all students of CNE member schools with valid ID). The game will be streamed live.
The winner of Friday's matchup will play for the CNE title on Sunday, March 1.
