A free festival of Azerbaijan Music will be held at The Hartt School on Friday, March 13. The festival, “West meets East: a festival of Azerbaijan music” will feature musicians from Hartt, including faculty, students as well as guest musicians coming from across the U.S.
“This is a unique opportunity for our community to hear a music from far away country of Azerbaijan,” says professor of piano Kamilla Mammedova.
The program includes a video/presentation about Azerbaijan, its culture, art and history. Additionally, attendees can experience a concert with music composed by Azerbaijani composers as well as folk music played on national instruments. Following the event, a reception will be held with Azerbaijani national delights.
“West meets East” will be held on Friday, March 13 at 7 p.m. in Berkman Recital Hall on the University of Hartford’s main campus. The event is free and open to the public.
