In an effort to improve cybersecurity and to be more efficient, there will be a few changes to the HawkPC ordering process. At this time, any requests for faculty and staff computers will be replaced if they are 5 or more years old, or if they are no longer working.
The serial/service tag number of the computer being replaced will need to be included with the IDT order and the older machine will need to be turned in once the new one is received. Requests for laptops for a new position should include the new hire start date, and will typically be ordered so that they are available 2-4 weeks prior to that date.
This new process will improve our cybersecurity posture by reducing our threat landscape, and resource efficiency by taking aging machines off of the network and maximizing our warranty period.
