Program Director of the Paralegal Studies Program Regina Graziani, Esq. recently delivered a continuing legal education seminar to the Connecticut Bar Association entitled, From Burnout to Brilliance: Reclaiming Your Energy, Focus & Joy in Legal Practice.
The CLE addressed the growing burnout crisis within the legal profession, drawing on data showing that 77 percent of attorneys report experiencing burnout symptoms. Graziani introduced attendees to the neuroscience underlying burnout, explaining why the analytical approaches cultivated through legal training are insufficient to address what is, at its core, a physiological condition. She offered a framework, built around four pillars of recovery, along with practical, evidence-based tools participants can incorporate immediately into their daily practice.
The CLE also examined the ethical dimensions of attorney well-being, connecting burnout directly to lawyers' professional obligations under the Connecticut Rules of Professional Conduct.
