Join the Office of Inclusive Excellence and Belonging and the International Office for a Juneteenth Family and Friends Celebration in GSU North and South Café on Wednesday, June 17 from noon to 2 p.m.
Juneteenth, the longest running African American holiday, honors the end of slavery in the United States. Observed on June 19 each year, Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, finally learned their freedom, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. Juneteenth today serves as a celebration of liberation and opportunity for all.
We invite students, family, friends, colleagues, and community members to gather in unity, community, and celebration. Enjoy music, activities, and food as we recognize and honor this important holiday.
Please advise any guests to park in B Lot.
