Karen Braccialarghe, RN, EdD, ENHP Associate Professor of Nursing, received the Beverly Koerner Research Grant. This grant encourages scholarly efforts led by nursing faculty. The primary investigator must be an active member of Sigma Theta Tau Iota Upsilon Chapter At-Large.

Karen applied for this grant in relation to an ongoing quasi-experimental crossover study that compares the effect of virtual simulation and high-fidelity simulation on learning outcomes of undergraduate nursing students. Secondary aims of this study explore if the sequencing of simulation methods impacts clinical reasoning, problem-solving ability, or self-confidence among nursing students.

Funding made possible by the Beverly Koerner Research Grant will make advanced statistical analysis and dissemination of the findings possible.
