Clinical Assistant Professor of Mathematics Dr. Jinsook Park has published a research article in the Journal of College Science Teaching. The article, “Exploring the First-Year Student’s Experiences: Understanding Belonging and STEM-Identity from the Residential Learning Community Student Perspective,” co-authored with Dr. Anastasiia Minenkova, examines first-year college students’ experiences in a residential learning community and explores how students’ sense of belonging and STEM identity develop through their academic and social experiences. The study highlights the importance of supportive learning environments in fostering students’ sense of belonging and engagement in STEM.
