Eight members of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Class of 2026 are making their mark in the field of physical therapy. Taylor Gubler, Elizabeth Kenneally, Caden Cloutier, Erin Duffy, Zach Hamilton, Grace Harty, Ben Senra, and Drew Martin recently published their research in Physiological Measurement, an international peer-reviewed journal.
Working with faculty mentor Jinghui Yang, MPT, PhD, in the Applied Exercise Physiology and Rehabilitation Lab, the students took their research from an initial idea to a published study and completed study design, IRB approval, data collection, analysis, and peer review throughout UHart’s three-semester DPT research course sequence.
Their study examined the accuracy of a widely used rehabilitation device that measures pressure clinicians rely on to safely and effectively treat patients.
This achievement showcases the hands-on research experience built into UHart’s DPT program and the impact students can make when they have the opportunity to contribute to the evidence shaping their future profession.
