Spring 2027 Registration Changes

To reduce student frustration and keep the registration portal from being overwhelmed, especially on the first day, we reviewed the registration process and made several changes, summarized below.

Fewer Priority Registration Groups

We consulted with the individuals that oversee each priority area to determine whether early registration remained essential for that group. Based on this review, several groups were removed from priority registration. Having fewer priority groups will make registration more manageable for all students. Students who are no longer eligible for priority registration were notified over the summer.

The first day of registration will be reserved for the following priority groups:

  • Student-athletes
  • Seniors with a 3.70 GPA or higher
  • Students enrolled in 3+1 accelerated programs
  • Students with accessibility needs
  • Red Keys

NEW: Assigned Registration Start Times

Beginning with Spring 2027 registration, every student, including those in priority groups, will receive an assigned registration date and start time.  Students may register any time after their assigned start time. Start times begin at 8:00 a.m. each day.

The schedule below shows the general order of registration. Each student will receive their specific registration date and assigned registration start time by email.

Registration is Now Fully Online

All registrations must now be completed through the Self-Service portal.

Registration overrides are also no longer processed by the Center for Student Success. Faculty will enter overrides for their own courses in Self-Service. More information about this change, including instructions for entering overrides, is available here.

Students will receive their registration date and assigned start time at their University of Hartford email address.

We recognize these changes may take some adjustment, and we appreciate your patience as we work toward a more organized registration experience for students.
