Assistant Professor of Chemistry Dr. Olivia Soliman has published a research article in Polymers MDPI Journal. The article, “Preparation and Characterization of Immediate-Release Tablets Containing Calcium Lactate Recovered from Chemically Recycled Poly (lactic acid) 3D Printing Filaments,” was co-authored by Dr. Cindy Thomas-Charles of the biology department, and sophomore students Jacqueline Tran ‘28 and Irvin Rivera ‘28.
The article investigated the green chemical upcycling of 3D printing plastic waste into calcium lactate tablets and its potential as a viable product for the pharmaceutical industry.
