Application Requirements

If you are applying for a program in Engineering, you should have standardized test scores, as well as 16 units of secondary subjects, including the following,

  • 4 units of English
  • 2 units of social studies
  • 2 units of a language other than English
  • 2 units of laboratory science (chemistry and physics are recommended)
  • 3½ units of Mathematics (2 units Algebra, 1 unit Plane Geometry, ½ unit Trigonometry; Pre-Calculus or Calculus are recommended)
  • 2½ units of other academic subjects

We also recommend additional units in computer programming, mechanical drawing, and industrial arts. Advanced Placement (AP) and transfer credits may be applied toward the degree program.

If you are applying for a program in Engineering Technology, including Architectural Design + Technology, you should meet the following requirements:

  • 4 units of English
  • 1 unit of social sciences
  • 1 unit of physics or 2 units of other laboratory sciences
  • 2½ units of mathematics (algebra I and II and trigonometry are recommended)

In addition, high-school performance, the nature of the high-school program followed, submission of standardized test scores (preferred), special skills and talents relevant to engineering technology are considered. Advanced Placement (AP) and transfer credits may be applied toward the degree program.
