Admission and Audition Requirements
- Meet with the Dance Division Administrator (AMANFREDI@hartford.edu) to determine the requirements of course selection, examination, interview and audition.
- Audition for and be approved by the Dance Division Director.
- When officially accepted into the minor, the University’s “Change of Curriculum Status” form must be completed to add the minor. This form requires the signatures of the primary academic advisor and Dean (University major), as well as Hartt’s Academic Advisor and Evaluator.
To complete the minor in dance, students must register for a letter grade for all courses, receive a grade no lower than a C in each DFA course, and maintain a university GPA of 2.75.
Performing Arts Management, Dance Minor, 2021
From Overland Park, Kansas, Austin Kelly knew that Hartt’s performing arts management degree with a minor in dance was the best option for him. With his degree and experience, he hopes to combine his dance training and administrative education to pursue a career in dance management.
The Hartt dance division is incredibly supportive of my career path. Although I am a minor amongst dance majors, the faculty does not neglect me and allows me to be a full-time member of their department while contributing to my personal interests. The Dance Division will help me turn my investment of time, effort, and hard work into a lasting and satisfiable career.
