Amsley Mahoney '06, LCSW, LNHA

Executive Director, Alliance Health at Braintree

CAREER TIP

AMahoney_w.jpg"I once had a long term patient whose son was a C-level executive with a largely known national grocery store chain. He became aware of a change in my career and once asked me if executive director would be my next step. I laughed. He told me that he would never have reached the high points of his career if he hadn't learned to trust the opinions and experience of the people willing to give him the bigger job, even when he felt he wasn't ready. I tell myself this almost every day now.

More about Amsley Mahoney

After graduating from the University of Hartford in 2006, I worked for two years in the Hartford Probate Court under Judge Robert Killian Jr. (former member of the University's Board of Regents). From there I pursued my Master's in Social Work at Boston College and obtained my LCSW in 2010. I have been with Alliance Health at Braintree for almost eight years now, starting as a social worker. After completing the requirements to sit for the Licensed Nursing Home Administrator's exam, I obtained my LNHA in October 2016 and was named Executive Director in November 2016. Alliance Health at Braintree is a 101-bed skilled nursing and sub-acute rehabilitation care facility. I live in Pembroke, Mass. with my husband John, our 5-year old son, and two dogs. When not working on DIY renovations to our 1800's farmhouse, we are likely on the beach.
