Enjoy one of our most celebrated Hawktober Weekend traditions—Sunday morning jazz brunch. Mike Casey '15 will be sharing original music (some of which he wrote while a student at Hartt) with the audience, bringing his 21st century jazz and storytelling to you. Casey graduated from the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at the University of Hartford's The Hartt School of Music where he studied with respected jazz artists such as Abraham Burton, Javon Jackson, Steve Davis, Rene McLean, and Nat Reeves. Since graduating, Casey's music surpassed 7 million streams, bringing the joy of jazz across genre lines to a diverse young audience around the world. He has toured the Kennedy Center and has been featured in Huffington Post, Forbes, BBC, NPR, and JazzTimes among others. During Hawktober, we'll be bringing the sounds of Mike Casey to your home for this special virtual performance previewing his upcoming 4th album Law of Attraction where he'll share stories behind the music that relate to his artistic journey at UHart.
