Wondering how to register, connect with classmates, where to stay, eat, or play? Read through these frequently asked questions for answers.

Registration

Online registration is now closed, but walk-ins are welcome for any event that is not marked as sold out.

Hawktober Weekend pre-registration will remain open until Wednesday, October 12. After that date, guests are welcome to attend as walk-ins.

Pre-registration is not required to attend Hawktober, but it is highly recommended. By pre-registering, you will gain early access to our Hawktober app and have the chance to connect with other guests, check out the full Hawktober schedule, take part in competitions to win prizes, and more! Some Hawktober events are ticketed and have limited space, so be sure to secure your spot by pre-registering. Walk-ins are always welcome during Hawktober Weekend, as long as events have open capacity.

After registering for Hawktober, you will receive an email invitation to join the Hawktober App. This free app will allow you to connect with friends, see who else is attending events, learn about event speakers and performers, and more!

Travel

If you are driving to the University of Hartford, check out our recommended routes from various directions.

The University of Hartford has plenty of parking available for our Hawktober Weekend guests. See our interactive parking map to review all of your options.

The University of Hartford has partnered with local hotels to offer you discounted rates. View options and make reservations online. For additional informational purposes, the comprehensive list of rates displayed for each property will show other available rate types as well (including the hotel's standard rate, any seasonal specials, and affinity group rates such as AAA). All hotel rates are based on availability, which may change from day to day due to new reservations and cancellations.

On Campus

The University of Hartford website offers a PDF map of campus as well as an interactive map of campus.

Many of our Hawktober Weekend events will have food and drink offerings, including the Parents Breakfast, Pre-Flight, Afternoon Snack, Sunset S’mores, Jazz Brunch, and more!

There will be additional locations where you can purchase food and beverages throughout the weekend.

If you have any special dietary needs and you plan to attend an event with a meal, please email us at hawktober@hartford.edu so that we can best accommodate you.

The campus store will be open:

  • Friday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Sunday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The campus store is located in Harry Jack Gray Center and is offering a 10% discount on all purchases made during Hawktober Weekend.

Guests

We have a lot of exciting events aimed toward our UHart alumni, including the Anchor Awards, nostalgia campus tours, off-campus alumni socials, and plenty of opportunities to mix and mingle. The Talcott Mountain Collective Alumni Hang and Alumni Reunion at the Ukrainian Lady are sure to be a blast!

To help you connect with old and new friends, all Hawktober registrants will receive an email giving them access to the Hawktober App. This app, downloaded on your smart phone or accessed via a web browser, will allow you to create a guest profile and see other guests that have registered for Hawktober Weekend. Be sure to check out the Alumni Track on the Hawktober App for a full list of events geared towards our awesome alums!

We have a lot of exciting events aimed toward our UHart parents, including campus tours, a panel discussion about student life at UHart, and plenty of opportunities to meet and mingle. We especially recommend that our parents register to attend the UHart Parents Breakfast Social on Saturday morning at 9:30 am.

To help you connect with other Weekend guests, all Hawktober registrants will receive an email giving them access to the Hawktober App. This app, downloaded on your smart phone or accessed via a web browser, will allow you to create a guest profile and see other guests that have registered for Hawktober Weekend. Be sure to check out the Parents Track on the Hawktober App for a full list of events geared towards our VIPs – Very Important Parents!

We highly recommend that students register to attend Hawktober events to ensure that we have enough refreshments and seating available for all of our guests.

Walk-ins are always welcome where space allows.

Please keep in mind that some events do have limited seating, so if you plan to attend Jazz Brunch or a theater performance, we highly recommend purchasing tickets beforehand. These events often sell out prior to Hawktober Weekend.
