Enhanced Safety

Dining Services is enhancing its safety protocols to keep Hawks healthy this fall. Here is how  they are working to protect you:

increased cleaning, sanitizing and other safety protocols
  • Enhanced team member training
  • Increased cleaning and sanitizing of high touch areas every 20 minutes
  • Increased hand washing protocols
  • Daily team member health verification and screening
  • Removing and centralizing potential high-touch contamination points to ensure frequent cleaning and sanitizing
  • Installation of barriers wherever social distancing is not possible.
  • Align with the University's Keeping Hawks Healthy campaign.
  • All team members have reviewed and signed Lets Keep Hawks Healthy Pledge
  • Level 1-3 mitigation strategies/protocols
  • Quarantine and Isolation plan and protocols
  • State of CT COVID-19 Prevention Certification Completion for all campus locations.
  • Occupancy monitoring systems at Commons and GSU Café
  • Sanitation beacons
  • No-touch payment solutions at all locations 
  • No-touch beverage solutions
  • Campus has moved to GrubHub Ultimate Platform
    • GrubHub kiosk locations in GSU, Dana Hall, Mortenson Library, and PAC
    • Increased mobile ordering functionality.
    • Increased menu selections and meal plan functionality
  • Introduction of e-commerce solutions to provide access to meal plan additions and changes 24/7 through CampusDish.

Our Dining Services will have an altered schedule for opening week (see attached image or visit our dining website). Regular dining hours for the entire semester are outlined below: 


Monday–Thursday: 7 a.m.–9 p.m. 

Friday: 7 a.m.–8 p.m.

Saturday & Sunday: 9 a.m.–7 p.m.

Gengras Cafe

Monday–Thursday: 11 a.m.–3 p.m.

Friday: 11 a.m.–2 p.m.

Saturday & Sunday: Closed

Einstein Bagel

Monday–Friday: 7:30–11 a.m.

Saturday & Sunday: Closed


Monday–Thursday: 7:30 a.m.–9 p.m.

Friday: 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Saturday: Closed

Sunday: 2–9 p.m.


Monday–Sunday: 5 p.m.–12 a.m.

Village Market

Monday–Sunday: 2 p.m.–12 a.m.

Hawk's Nest

Monday–Sunday: 5–11 p.m.

Backstage Cafe

Closed for semester, but will have a fresh food kiosk and GrubHub kiosk to pre-order. Students will need to place order by 11 .m. and it will be delivered by noon. 

POD @ Dana Hall

Students can use the GrubHub Kiosk to pre-order food from one of our dining locations to pick up.
