High school students throughout Connecticut will get together virtually on Saturday, Nov. 7, for Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Fall Conference 2020, hosted by the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business.
Future Business Leaders of America is a nonprofit educational association with a quarter million students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. This year, the conference theme is Aspire. CT FBLA members and their advisors from nearly 70 chapters are expected to participate in workshops and events related to career planning, college life expectations, and remote learning.
The conference begins with a welcome and introduction session by FBLA state officers at 9 a.m. A panel discussion featuring Steve Mulready, dean of the Barney School of Business; Celia Lofink, undergraduate program director of the Barney School; and two current Barney School students will start at 9:30 a.m.
We are excited to have Mark Boxer, the University of Hartford’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, as a keynote speaker at the conference at 10:15 a.m.
Mark Boxer ‘83 was named executive vice president and chief operating officer in June 2020 following his retirement from Cigna, where he served as global chief information officer for nine years. He was responsible for driving Cigna’s worldwide technology strategy and overseeing the health company’s technology operations, digital capabilities, analytics, and ventures.
