Previously, Logan served as vice president of enrollment and student experience at Western Kentucky University. At WKU, Logan realigned enrollment and financial aid strategy with the university’s overall strategic priorities, resulting in increases in enrollment, retention, and net tuition revenue. Logan also spent more than 20 years at Texas Tech University in both enrollment management and student affairs, culminating in his role as associate vice president and chief enrollment officer. He currently works as a consultant with Deloitte, LLP on the development and advisement of its enrollment management platform, an experience that has provided him with deep immersion into the logistics and data analysis of the enrollment management enterprise for a diverse set of institutions.

“I am very pleased and excited to welcome Ethan to the University of Hartford community,” says President Lawrence P. Ward. “He brings a rare blend of authenticity, collaboration, and strong analytical insight to this leadership role. Ethan’s campus interviews and his references demonstrate a thoughtful professional who leads with kindness and integrity, building trust at every step. He commits to understanding challenges before acting, and his ability to use data to support answers reflects a visionary approach to enrollment. That combination of collaboration and data-informed leadership is exactly what we value and what will power UHart’s enrollment success.”

During his 27 years in higher education administration, Logan has worked across private liberal arts, public regional, and public research institutions. He contributed significantly to historic enrollment growth at Texas Tech University during his tenure and played a key role in the post-COVID-19 recovery at Western Kentucky University.

“I am thrilled to join the University of Hartford community,” says Logan. “Throughout the search process, it was clear that the principles of UHart align with an intentional, collaborative, and transformational educational experience. In an era of challenging external dynamics, enrollment management today requires strong academic relationships internally, with purposeful and proactive external outreach to build pathways for all students to successfully participate in higher education. I look forward to fostering a culture of continuous data assessment, identifying opportunities, and working together to track progress toward new and exciting goals.”

As previously shared with the campus community, the VPEM role has been created to cohesively lead undergraduate, graduate, and international enrollment strategy and execution, including financial aid. As the University leans into a highly competitive and changing higher education marketplace, understanding who UHart serves, how to meet current market demand through academic programs and co-curricular offerings, and how to best prepare graduates for a complex world are critical elements to collective institutional success.

Logan earned his Bachelor of Science, Master of Education, and PhD in Higher Education Administration from Texas Tech University. His doctoral dissertation analyzed Logistic Regression in the Predictive Modeling of Admitted Student Enrollment. In 2019, Logan received the highest honor given by the Texas Tech University Alumni Association, its Distinguished Service Award.

A member of numerous professional and community organizations over the years, Logan has received state appointments in both Texas (Apply Texas Advisory Committee) and Kentucky (Council of Postsecondary Education—Student Success Collaborative). He regularly participates and presents on topics related to enrollment management with professional organizations including the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers (AACRAO).

A native of Texas, Logan hails from a family of educators. His wife currently serves as the director of the Center for Innovative Teaching & Learning at Western Kentucky University. They are proud parents of two daughters, and as a family, they look forward to exploring the region, including actively participating in the arts and music community.
