This year’s celebration will take place from Friday, October 2 – Sunday, October 4.
Hawktober brings together alumni, students, parents, families, and friends of the University for a fun-filled weekend of games, music, performances, exhibits, tours, meet-and-greets, food, drinks, and campus-wide revelry—and everyone has a favorite activity.
Things get underway Friday with when you can once again enjoy A Taste of Home, the annual lunch in University Commons in which Aramark, UHart’s dining partner, will feature recipes submitted by UHart students and their families.
Friday also sees the start of the 50(ish) Reunion, which culminates in a gala dinner with President Lawrence P. Ward in attendance. In the evening, the Pub reopens, with food, fun, drinks, and live music.
The festivities continue Saturday when Hawktoberfest once again takes over Alumni Plaza with student performances, music, games, and fun for the entire family.
Throughout the day, Al-Marzook Field will give you plenty of opportunities to cheer on UHart's student-athletes, from the Men’s Lacrosse Alumni Game at 9:30 a.m. to soccer in the afternoon.
The Men’s Soccer game, at 6 p.m., will host a special halftime celebration in honor of the 1996 championship team. That year saw one of the most memorable seasons in the history of the program, with the team notching 17 regular season wins and winning the America East Regular Season Championship. They also became the first team in UHart history to make a run at NCAA Tournament’s Elite Eight.
In recognition of their spectacular season, members of the 1996 team will be presented with their championship rings for the first time—a ceremony fans won’t want to miss.
Sunday brings two longstanding traditions to round out the weekend. At 9 a.m. you can race, run, walk or jog your way through campus alongside UHart alumni, students, families, and friends at the annual Hawktober 5K (separate registration required). Meanwhile, at 11 a.m., the Jazz Brunch is back at Gengras Student Union, featuring recording artist and alumna Latanya Farrell M'97, M'98.
Hawktober brings a weekend’s worth of opportunities to have fun, make unforgettable memories, and connect with Hawks past, present, and future.
