Intramural Sports

The Recreation Department offers various sports-related activities, including soccer, flag football, softball, badminton, dodgeball, basketball, aquatics, kickball, volleyball, and other fun programs. Take a break from academic work to meet new friends, compete in a friendly atmosphere, and stay healthy. We offer Coed Divisions, which allows everyone to be part of a team, no matter gender, with all students and faculty/staff allowed to register.

Fall 2024 Intramural registration opened on Monday, August 12.

Intramural Leagues 

  • 10v10 Kickball League (Registration closes on Friday, Sep. 6) *20 Teams Max
    • Regular Season: Sep. 16-26, 6-10 p.m.
      • Playoffs: Sep. 30 & Oct. 2
      • Captain's Meeting: Sep. 10
      • Social Night: Sep. 12
  • 7v7 Soccer League (Registration closes Friday, Sep. 27) *10 Teams Max per league
    • Regular Season: Oct. 7-17, 6-10 p.m.
      • Playoffs: Oct. 21 & 22
      • Captain's Meeting: Oct. 1
      • Social Night: Oct. 3
  • 7v7 Flag Football League (Registration closes on Friday, Oct. 18) *10 Teams Max
    • Regular Season: Oct. 28 - Nov. 7

Intramural Tournaments

  • Inaugural Hawk Combine: Saturday, Oct. 5, noon - 3 p.m. *Unlimited spots
    • The Hawk combine will consist of 4 events: (1) forty-yard dash, (2) bench press, (3) broad jump, and (4) agility/cone drill. Intramural Championship shirts and an overall champion for Males & Females will be awarded for each event. Points will be awarded for each event, and the overall champion will be the participant who scores the most in the 4 combined events. 
  • 4v4 Prime Time Flag Football: Sunday, Oct. 27, noon - 3 p.m. *12 Teams Max
    • It is Prime Time! This 1-Day Flag Football Tournament will be a blind draw tournament with a single-elimination format to determine the overall champion. Teams will play (2) 10-minute halves. Players may only participate on one team to allow more teams to play.
  • 2v2 Quest to Glory Cornhole: Friday, Nov. 8, 6-10 p.m. *12 Teams Max
    • Can your squad be the team of glory to our Quest to Glory Cornhole Tourney? The format will be a double-elimination style tournament to determine the overall champion. The game will be self-officiated. Players may only participate on one team to allow more teams to play. 
  • 6v6 Ultimate Volleyball Challenge: Sunday, Nov. 17, noon - 3 p.m. *10 Team Max
    • Digging deep for victory! This 1-Day Volleyball Tournament will be a blind draw tournament with a single-elimination format to determine the overall champion. Teams will need to win 2 out of 3 sets to advance! Players may only participate on one team to allow more teams to play. There will be a men and women division!
  • 6v6 De-Stress Before Finals Dodgeball: Friday, Dec. 6, 6-10 p.m. *12 Team Max
    • It is time to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge! De-stress from preparing for finals and enjoy a night out with friends to get bragging rights for campus dodgeball champs. A single-elimination style tournament to determine the overall champion. A total of 3 out of 5 matches will make your team advance to the next round of playoffs. Players may only participate on one team to allow more teams to play.

Create an IMLeagues Account

There are two ways to creat an account:

Sign Up from the IMLeagues home page or Log in with Facebook if you have a Facebook account with a school email address. This will automatically create an account, fill in your info, and join you to the school (steps 2-4).

  1. Enter your information,use your School email if applicable (@hartford.edu) and submit.
  2. Once complete, you will be sent an activation email; click the link in the email to log in and activate your IMLeagues account.

You should be automatically joined to your school – If not, search schools by selecting the “Schools” link

Three Ways to Join a Sports Team

Create a Team (For Team Captains)

Captains can invite members to their team by clicking the “Team Options” and then the “Invite Members” link on the team page. Any invited members must accept the invitation to be joined to your team.

  • If they’ve already registered on IMLeagues: search for their name, and invite them
  • If they haven’t yet registered on IMLeagues: scroll down to the “Invite by Email Address” box, and input their email address.

Join a Team

  • Find existing teams on the league page and click the “join team” button to send a request to join a team
  • Accepting a request from the captain to join a team
  • Finding the team and captain name on the division/league page and requesting to join
  • Going to the captain’s player card page, viewing the team, and requesting to join 

Join as a Free Agent 

You can list yourself as a free agent in as many divisions within a league as you’d like. You will be visible to all site members and can request to join teams or post information about yourself so teams can request to add you to their teams.
