Brielle Tolli ’21, M’22

Brielle Tolli is a senior marketing major. She is enrolled in the University of Hartford’s 3 + 1 accelerated program where she will be obtaining both her BSBA (’21) and MBA (’22) degrees in four years. This summer Brielle had the opportunity to intern in the Marketing and Sales Department at the American Red Cross in Fairfield, New Jersey. Although her internship experience became virtual as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, she was able to adapt, prevail, and establish relationships while working in a remote environment. During the course of her internship, Brielle implemented market-focused business-to-business initiatives to identify, source, and pre-qualify sales leads for Red Cross Training Services. She also put into place both an outbound calling program and a social media campaign.

Brielle says that she would not be where she is today without the help of faculty and advisors n the Barney School, who want everyone to succeed and are willing to provide needed advice, feedback, and guidance. She also values that the faculty here connect with students both inside and outside the classroom. As part of her internship, Brielle was required to submit weekly reflections to UHart. These reflections enabled her to interact with Barney leadership, step back from her day-to-day activities, and identify how her work applied to the overall business processes of identifying and generating new customers for the Red Cross. Brielle expresses her sincere gratitude and thanks to faculty members Celia Lofink and Kenneth Goroshko for always challenging her in her studies and providing support and guidance both inside and outside of the classroom.

The Barney School of Business has helped to not only shape my career path in being career ready, but it has also helped me to grow as a person.

As a result of Brielle’s performance, the VP of marketing and sales offered her the opportunity to return to the Red Cross next year. Brielle continues to be an active member of the UHart community through various clubs and organizations, including the Barney Leadership Council, the American Marketing Association, Sigma Alpha Pi: The Society for Leadership and Success, and Red Caps (student Orientation leaders). Additionally, Brielle is president of UHart’s Delta Zeta Pi Beta Chapter, helping women to grow as future leaders. She was also a Barney School mentor for incoming first-year students in their World of Business class. She hopes to continue being involved on campus and pushing others to make the best out of their UHart experience.
