Caden Bailey ’26’s path to graduation has been defined by curiosity, challenge, and a drive to build solutions that matter. From an early passion for robotics and hands-on problem solving, he found his place in the Electromechanical Engineering Technology program at the University of Hartford's College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture. What began as an interest quickly evolved into a clear career direction, grounded in both technical skill and real-world application.

At UHart, Caden took full advantage of the University's close-knit environment. With accessible faculty, supportive staff, and open lab and makerspaces, he immersed himself in opportunities to bring concepts to life. Whether he was working through complex engineering theories in the classroom or applying them in hands-on lab settings, Caden developed a strong foundation that allowed him to quickly grasp key principles and techniques. He credits his professors not only for their dedication but also for pushing him beyond what he thought were his limits, helping him recognize potential in himself that he hadn't seen before.

Outside the classroom, Caden's experience was equally formative. As a member of the men's soccer team and the National Society of Black Engineers, he built meaningful connections and developed teamwork and leadership skills that translated directly into his professional life. Some of his most memorable moments, however, came from the sense of community he found on campus, especially the time spent in Commons with his friends, sharing Jamaican meals served by Dining Services and laughter. Those experiences helped shape not just his college journey but also who he is as a person.

Before even crossing the graduation stage in 2026, Caden had already secured his place in the workforce at Eversource. In his role, he has been able to apply the skills he developed at UHart, from technical engineering knowledge to professionalism and workplace readiness. He says it was his education at UHart that prepared him to step into that environment with confidence, understanding both the importance of safety and the execution of complex tasks.

Now, as he looks ahead, Caden is continuing to build on that momentum, growing within his field and applying his passion to real-world challenges every day. His journey reflects the power of hands-on learning, strong mentorship, and a willingness to push beyond comfort zones.

For future students, his advice is simple but impactful: ask questions, explore every available resource, and take advantage of opportunities beyond the classroom. For Caden Bailey, those choices made all the difference, transforming a passion into a profession and preparing him for success long before graduation.
