Spring Break Study Abroad Info Session Oct. 11

Attend the info session on Monday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. in GSU 335.  See below for more information on the programs available.  

The University of Hartford is offering ALL first-year and sophomore students the opportunity to spend spring break 2022 abroad AND do it affordably. Over $80,000 in scholarship funds are available just for these programs – apply today.

  • When: Mar. 11-18, 2022
  • Who: Open to ALL first-year and sophomore students – students from all seven colleges, athletes, international students, commuter students, honors students, etc. are welcome to apply!
  • What: 1-credit study abroad experience in one of three locations: London, England OR Granada, Spain OR San Jose, Costa Rica
  • Cost: $2,750 – includes tuition, airfare, housing some meals and local activities/excursions
  • Apply by Nov. 5! Space is limited to 20 students per location – apply early to get your first choice location. 

These are the possible excursions included in the program cost for each location:

London, England

  • Bus tour of popular London sites
  • Tours of Parliament and Westminster Abbey
  • Visits to Tower of London, Shakespeare’s Globe Theater, the London Eye
  • A West End theater performance
  • Day trip to Stonehenge and Bath
    • A Jack the Ripper tour or London Street Art tour

Granada, Spain

  • Walking tour of Granada historical center
  • Visits to the Palacio Dar-Al-Horra, Carmen de la Victoria, and other sites
  • Day trip to Alpujarras
  • Explore the hot springs of Alhambra de Granada
  • Environmental project like cleaning up the riverbank, etc. 
    • Watch a Flamenco show

San Jose, Costa Rica

  • Historical tour of San Jose
  • Cooking class (making a traditional Costa Rican dish)
  • Day trip with Costa Rican coffee tour and tasting
  • Costa Rican dance class
  • Service-learning project with reusable materials
  • Costa Rican handmade crafts session
