December 02, 2021
Submitted By: Commencement Committee

September 2021 degree recipients and January 2022 degree candidates will be celebrated at the University of Hartford's Fall Commencement ceremonies on Sunday, Dec. 5, in Lincoln Theater.

Ceremonies will be held at 10:30 a.m. (doctoral and master's students) and 2:30 p.m. (undergraduate). Graduates should report to Konover Campus Center for robing a minimum of one hour prior to their ceremony start time.

Those graduates who did not pick up their regalia on Nov. 29–30 or have it shipped to their homes should plan to pick up their cap and gown at the Campus Store (bookstore) prior to reporting to Konover Campus Center on Dec. 5. The Campus Store will be open on Commencement Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Nelba Márquez-Greene ’97, founder of The Ana Grace Project, will deliver the Commencement address. She founded The Ana Grace Project in 2013 as a response to the school shooting in Sandy Hook, Conn., in 2012, which took the life of her daughter, Ana Grace Márquez-Greene. It is dedicated to promoting love, community, and connection for every child and family through three lead initiatives: partner schools, professional development, and music and the arts. Márquez-Greene is also a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in grief, loss, trauma and their impact on individuals and systems. See more.

All guests and September degree recipients will need to show proof upon entry on Dec. 5 that they are fully vaccinated (proof of a negative test within 72 hours will also be accepted) and complete the LiveSafe health screening prior to arriving on campus. Masks will be required inside Lincoln Theater, Konover Campus Center, and all indoor spaces on campus.

Both ceremonies will be livestreamed.
