Installed in the lobby of the Romanian Cultural Institute (RCI) in New York City, “25” showcases key moments of the partnership through photographs from the Diplomatic Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania. The black and white photographs are printed on aluminum tiles and are arranged chronologically as the ascending facets of an unending column. The motto of the exhibit, “only freedom can make such miracles”, points to the condition and purpose of the ongoing diplomatic project, particularly important at this time of war and aggression in Eastern Europe.

The formal opening took place on Sept. 23, in the presence of the Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister, and the Romanian Ambassador and Permanent Representative at the United Nations.

“25” INSTALLATION & PHOTO EXHIBITION: The Romania-United States Strategic Partnership Up and Close, will be open to the public until Oct. 7 at RCI NY, 200 E38th Street. Highlighting the ample cultural anniversary program, Barac’s installation will be on display through Dec. 31.

Barac is principal and co-founder of Atelier Cue, LLC. She has been teaching architectural and urban design studio and advising graduate thesis at UHart since 2015.
