Connecticut Green Building Council 16th Annual Green Building Awards

In December, the Connecticut Green Building Council held its 16th Green Building Awards 2022. The event was held at the Stony Creek Brewery in Branford and attended by professionals from around the state. The intent of the CTGBC Design Awards is to recognize building projects, project teams, and people who are helping to bring health, equity, and resiliency, along with sustainability, to the state’s architecture. 

CETA and the Department of Architecture would like to recognize various University of Hartford students, faculty, and alumni who participated in the awards ceremony. In the category of Student Design Awards, alumnus and CTGBC board member Yashika Singh (AIA) presented Aurora Perrault (UH23) an Award of Merit for her proposal for the haRTline Park River Development. The design project was developed under the direction of Adjunct Professor Ioana Barac of Atelier Cue.

In turn, CTGBC board member and Associate Professor Theodore Sawruk (Associate AIA) presented the Award of Honor to Melody Iannone (UH22) for her design of Virikiratu: An India Disaster Relief Shelter. Her project was developed under the direction of Adjunct Professors Stephen Smith (AIA) and Dustin Lombardi (AIA).

CETA and the Department of Architecture e would like to congratulate both Aurora Perrault (UH23) and Melody Iannone (UH22) for their outstanding achievements in sustainable design.
