To celebrate the spirit of belonging, students are invited to make short videos on what the word and topic mean to them.

Students may record and submit videos that are between 1 and 1.5 minutes (similar to a reel or TikTok) that will be shared later through UNotes and social media.

Choose a question to answer in your video:

  • What does belonging mean to you?
  • Think about an event/activity/incident that made you feel welcomed at UHart. What was the event/activity/incident? Why did it make you feel welcomed?
  • Discuss a gesture or practice that you do as an individual (it could be as a part of your background) that makes people around you feel welcomed.
  • What made you choose UHart?

You can choose multiple topics but please record one video per topic!

E-mail your video to Shivangi Nangia, the DEIJB Spring 2023 Fellow, at uhartbelonging@gmail.com. With the University’s continued DEIJB efforts, we look forward to hearing more about your views on belonging.

Suggestions for your video:

1) Please share your name and class year (or how long you have been at UHart).

2) Record while staying in one place (not moving around).

3) Please sit in a well-lit area and use a clean background.
