On Thursday, April 27, a group of 50+ Barney School of Business students, staff, faculty, and alumni, took on the big apple in a Corporate Visit Day! This is a tradition organized by Dr. Celia Lofink, Assistant Dean Career Ready Program and Clinical Assistant Professor of Management, and Alex Coury, Senior Director of Development and Corporate Philanthropy, along with the Barney Leadership Council (BLC).

Starting the day at Michael Page, an employment agency, the group learned about the business model for recruitment agencies and how they work with their clients to find jobs.

After enjoying lunch together, the group split in two and visited the Sirius XM and L’Oreal offices. At Sirius XM, the group learned about marketing analytics, toured the studios, and saw behind the scenes of how the radio shows run. At L’Oreal, the group learned about international business, growing technologies in the beauty industry, and retail sales techniques.

On behalf of the Barney School of Business, thank you to the wonderful alumni who hosted us at these impressive businesses. Experiences like this provide students with Career Ready opportunities whether it’s networking, professional development, leadership, and much more.
