Personal pronouns and pronunciations are now available and editable in Blackboard. Individual users control what pronouns others will see in Blackboard. This information is not brought over by Banner, you will need to personally update these yourself in Blackboard. You can also customize some other things on your profile such as your notification settings.
A note about Pronouns:
If you don’t see the pronoun options best suited to your needs, you can make a request if allowed. Requests are sent to the administrator for review and approval. Your pronouns will appear to other users. In your courses, they will display in various locations of interactive tools, group activities, and name lists. If you do not want others to see your pronouns, you can remove them.
Pronunciations:
Users can phonetically spell out and also record the pronunciation of their names now in Blackboard. Pronunciations will be available to users within Blackboard courses.
