Please join us as we celebrate Katherine's retirement from the University of Hartford after 28 years of distinguished service.

Katherine Black arrived on campus in 1998 as an assistant professor of psychology. She subsequently earned tenure, advanced to associate professor, and then attained the rank of full professor.

Later, Katherine took on administrative leadership, first serving with distinction as assistant provost and dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. After serving as interim provost, she was appointed provost in 2023. During this time, she successfully launched new programs, facilitated the merger of Hillyer College and the College of Arts and Sciences, initiated efforts to support faculty and students in artificial intelligence skill development, advanced shared governance, and championed inclusive excellence and belonging initiatives.

We hope you are able to attend to celebrate Katherine and wish her well in her future endeavors.

Additionally, those wishing to contribute a note, story, or well wishes to be shared with Katherine are encouraged to do so via this form.
