In honor of America 250, the Harrison Libraries are proud to announce the launch of Collections in Early America, a premier digital archive documenting the multifaceted origins of the United States. This expansive suite of primary sources offers a deep dive into the foundational documents of the early Republic, from the birth of American political systems and government structures to the cultural literature that shaped a new national identity.

Critically, these collections provide a more complete picture of our history by centering diverse perspectives often sidelined in traditional narratives. Researchers can explore over 20,000 documents detailing the sovereign histories and federal encounters of Indigenous nations, as well as dedicated archives highlighting the lived experiences of African Americans during the Revolutionary era. We invite the University of Hartford community to utilize these collections to uncover the complex, overlapping stories that define the American experiment.
