Theodor Adorno and Leo Strauss: Fighting Fascism with Jewish Philosophy

What can Jewish philosophers teach us about resisting fascism? Theodor Adorno and Leo Strauss are two philosophers who thought deeply about anti-fascism. Join us as we welcome to UHart expert in Jewish philosophy, Jeffrey Bernstein, who will present a talk on anti-fascist philosophy and its Jewish inspirations.

Jeffrey Bernstein is a professor of philosophy and Chair of the Philosophy Department at College of the Holy Cross. His current work concerns the relation between philosophy and Jewish thought. He is the author of Leo Strauss on the Borders of Judaism, Philosophy, and History (SUNY 2016), co-editor of Leo Strauss and Contemporary Thought (SUNY 2021), and author of the forthcoming book, Adorno, Strauss, and Antifascist Philosophy.

This event will take place in the Greenberg Center HJG E307 on Tuesday, April 28 from 4 p.m.–5:30 p.m.
