Honor Societies

There are two general academic honor societies on campus; both are local chapters of prestigious national societies. Click on each one to learn more.

Alpha Lambda Delta (First-year Students) Dr. Adam Silver and Chrissy Riley, Advisors

Alpha Lambda Delta, founded in 1924, celebrates academic excellence during a student's first year at college. Students must be registered for a full course of study for a bachelor's degree, have a GPA of 3.65+, and rank in the top 20% of their freshman class.

Eligible students will be invited to join this honor society during the spring of their first year. The faculty sponsor is Adam Silver, asilver@hartford.edu

Alpha Chi (Juniors and Seniors) Shelly DuFord, Advisor

Since 1922, Alpha Chi has promoted academic excellence and exemplary character among college students. Juniors and seniors (54+ credits) who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and are ranked in the top 10% of upperclassmen are eligible for induction into this prestigious honor society.

Eligible students will be invited to join during the spring of their junior or senior year. The faculty sponsor is Shelly DuFord, 860.768.4606, rduford@hartford.edu.
