The curriculum is based on the development of valuable speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills that enable you to effectively communicate in social and professional settings.

Minor Requirements

A total of 18 credits is required for the Italian minor.


You must earn a total of 15 credits from a list of Italian courses. Examples include:

  • Elementary Italian II
  • Intermediate Italian I  
  • Introduction to Italian Culture  
  • Studies in Italian Culture  

Additional Requirements

The Italian minor requires the completion of one of the following 3 credit courses:

  • Integrative Capstone: Comparative Literature and Critical Theories  
  • Special Topics in Modern Languages and Cultures
