Jazz and Global Music

jazz2025

Jazz and Global Music provides students with the opportunity to explore a wide range of contemporary styles, from jazz to rock and world music to pop. Jazz and Global Music inspires students to look at collaboration through multiple lenses in order to develop their own identity within a musically diverse community.

Jazz and Global Music is a dynamic community of musicians coming together to explore their craft. Keeping our ensembles small and student-centered, students will gain musical experience within a supportive space that encourages them to push beyond their comfort zones. Recent collaborations have included workshops and masterclasses with internationally-renowned artists including Javon Jackson (Director of the Jackie McLean Institute from the Hartt School) and saxophonist Antonio Hart (The Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz).

For any questions about lessons or placement in an ensemble, contact Rich Goldstein, Jazz/Global Educational Coordinator at rgoldstie@hartford.edu
