The University will be closed on Monday, January 20 in observance of the Martin Luther King Day national holiday.

The University will remember Dr. King on February 5 from noon to 1 p.m. in Lincoln Theater with its annual "Keeping the Dream Alive" program. This year's featured speaker is world-renowned African American poet Nikki Giovanni who will receive an honorary degree. The program will also feature student performances of Giovanni's poems, music by alumnus Tony Harrington, and an excerpt from Dr. King's 1959 speech at The Bushnell titled "The Future of Integration" delivered thanks to an invitation from the University.

The event is free and open to the public.
