Dear UHart Community,

After 37 years of service to the University of Hartford, Susan Fitzgerald will be retiring from the University on Oct. 31, 2021. During her tenure, Sue served in a multitude of roles within the University, with her most recent as the Associate Dean of Student Engagement and Inclusion. There she advised our Student Government Association (SGA) and Club Sports programs.  Sue was a staunch advocate for our students and worked diligently to ensure every student felt like they belonged and mattered.  She leaves behind a legacy of being compassionate and caring to students and dedicated to the University's mission and values.  Please join me in wishing Sue the best in her upcoming retirement.

Moving forward, the Office of Student Engagement and Inclusion (OSEI) will transition to operate under the direction of Executive Director, Torshia Anderson. Torshia has been with the University for over 10 years and brings a wealth of student engagement experience, innovation, and foresight to the position. She has been instrumental in developing the Division of Student Success operational pillars and has held various roles throughout Residential Life, Greek Life, Community Service, Student Conduct, and Student Activities. In this new role, Torshia will serve as the advisor for SGA and Club Sports while leading an incredible team of student engagement professionals.  Please join me in congratulating Torshia in her new role.

I look forward to this new chapter of student engagement excellence.

Sincerely,

Aaron Isaacs

Dean of Students
