Update to Guest Policy

The University of Hartford's guest policy has been modified.

"I want to thank all members of the UHart community for your continued dedication to the health and safety of yourself and those around you," Associate VP for Student Success Jessica Nicklin wrote in an email to the UHart community on Friday. "The strong start to the fall semester can be directly attributed to our high vaccination rates on campus, mask wearing, and overall responsible behavior."

The full revised policy can be reviewed on our website. Among the highlights:

  • A limited number of invited guests are allowed for University-sponsored events, including performances, recitals, exhibitions, expos, and athletic events. The number is dependent on the event type and space restrictions. When possible, internal and external community members will be seated in different sections. Proof of vaccination, mask wearing, and LiveSafe are all required. Policy compliance is the responsibility of the organizing unit.

  • Faculty and staff can now have guest speakers attend classes and events without seeking permission from the COVID Steering Committee. Proof of vaccination, mask wearing, and LiveSafe are all required. Policy compliance is the responsibility of the organizing unit

  • Immediate family members of residential students may still access campus but must remain outside residential and campus buildings.

  • Visitors and guests are still prohibited from accessing residential spaces. Only UHart students may visit other UHart students in their residential space.

Please be aware that we may need to adjust to more restrictive measures based on changes in our COVID numbers on campus and in the community.

"Thanks to all of you again for helping to make these policy changes possible," Nicklin emphasized. "Let’s keep the momentum going, continue to make good choices, and be Healthy Hawks!"
