Faculty and Staff Honored for Service at Recognition Day
A total of 124 individuals representing a combined 1,935 years of service to the University of Hartford were celebrated on Tuesday, March 22, as the annual Recognition Day ceremony returned live and in person after a two-year interruption due to the pandemic.
The ceremony, held in Gengras Student Union, honored faculty and staff for five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years of service.
Bharat Kolluri, professor of economics at the Barney School of Business, was honored for 45 years of service, most among the honorees.
A combined 70 years of service were represented by a pair of long-time dispatchers in the Department of Public Safety, Chris Moskey (40) and Mary Tierney (30).
A cohort of five individuals who started at UHart on the exact same date five years ago were reunited at the ceremony: Lisa Coté, Nicole Hill, Amy Kopec, and Nicole Kurker-Stewart.
Interestingly, the largest number of faculty and staff recognized were in the 20-year category, where 32 faculty and staff were honored. Nine individuals reached the 25-year milestone and will receive a University of Hartford chair.
Congratulations to all who were honored during Recognition Day.
