The University is operating on a regular schedule this morning but will close today at 1 p.m. Classes starting at or after 12:30 p.m. will not meet in person. Classes already in session will dismiss at 1 p.m. Online and remote courses are not affected by campus closings and will meet as scheduled. Please note that when a campus closing prevents an in-person class from meeting at its scheduled time, professors may opt to conduct classes or provide assignments online. Students should check Blackboard and their email regularly on such days to learn of any alternate arrangements. More on weather-related closings

ENHP Professor Featured on "Math Talk" Podcast

Jillian Cavanna, assistant professor of elementary education, STEM, and innovation in the College of ENHP, was recently interviewed on the All Learners Network podcast “Math Talk.” Cavanna discussed her work on “Equity in Mathematics Education: A Joint Position Statement for Connecticut” along with her co-authors Christie Madancy and Jenn Michalek. The statement shares essential conditions and central commitments for achieving equitable math outcomes for all students throughout Connecticut.

Cavanna is president of the Associated Mathematics Teacher Educators in Connecticut (AMTEC), which produced the equity statement in collaboration with math education organizations in the state and with the support of the Connecticut Department of Education.
