Celebrate New Exhibitions at the Hartford Art School

The Hartford Art School will host an opening celebration for two new exhibitions. In the Donald and Linda Silpe Gallery, To Order the Days / Para Ordenar Los Días presents new paintings and collaborative artwork related to Mayan cosmologies by this year’s Georgette and Richard Koopman Distinguished Chair in the Visual Arts, Genevieve de Leon. In the Joseloff Gallery, Designing the Dream State features new work that interrogates modern-day empire-building and South Asian-American identities by the inaugural Whitney Artist-in-Residence, Chiraag Bhakta.

The opening reception will be held on Thursday, Feb. 23, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., with opening remarks at Silpe Gallery at 5:15 p.m. Food and drink will be available outside both galleries.
