Applications Open for Undergraduate Student Representatives to the Board of Regents

It is the start of campaign season for the Student Government Association (SGA), and the selection of the Undergraduate Student Representatives to the Board of Regents (BOR) are integral members of the SGA Executive Board. The interview and selection process happens yearly independent from the election process. Candidates are interviewed and selected by members of the BOR.

It is my hope that the Division of Student Success can help share this opportunity with student leaders within your respective areas.

Job Description:

Student Representatives to the Board of Regents shall:

  1. Be selected from a committee outlined in the By-laws.
  2. Attend all House of Representatives, Executive Board, and Board of Regents Meetings.
  3. Each individual student regent shall have their own vote in the House of Representatives and Executive Board (two votes collectively).
  4. Present the views of the Board of Regents to the SGA and vice-versa.
  5. Plan and execute the annual student-attended Board of Regents Reception in conjunction with the SGA Advisor and President.
  6. Facilitate Executive Board evaluations in November and March.
  7. Initiate one project, in addition to the student-attended Board of Regents Reception involving Regents or Administration
