Come Sew a Whale in GSU 331/333
You might have seen the giant whale portrait hanging in the Harrison Library. YOU can be a part of the next whale portrait, by helping to sew a life-sized portrait of a new whale.
Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to drop in on March 29, any time from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in GSU 331/333 to collaboratively sew -- you don't need any experience or skill in sewing. Everyone who contributes gets to sign the back of the canvas. All materials are provided!
This event will be a part of the Worldwide Teach-in on Climate and Justice where people will be engaging all over the world to learn about climate change. That's because the plastic issue is also a climate change issue. Most plastics are made from fossil fuels, and they contribute to climate change at every stage of their life.
Visit GSU 331/333 on March 29 to learn more, and to help sew a new whale portrait!
Faculty: send your classes for an active, engaged, interdisciplinary learning opportunity!
