Hartford Consortium for Higher Education
The University of Hartford is a proud member of the Hartford Consortium for Higher Education (HCHE). Its 10 member institutions consist of both public and private universities and colleges, including community colleges and four-year universities as well as the region’s two seminaries. Our affiliate members are Connecticut Public/WNPR/CPTV and TheaterWorks.
HCHE is committed to sustained partnerships across the campuses to enhance the experience and professional life of the students, faculty, and staff of its members, and actively welcomes suggestions and ideas for new collaborations and initiatives.
Since 1972, HCHE has been committed to working in the area to address issues of educational equity, access to higher education, improved post-secondary outcomes for at-risk youth, transition to college, degree completion and the economic and civic benefits that come with a well-educated and engaged citizenry.
Through such programs as Career Beginnings, Jr. Apprentice, and the Center for Higher Education Retention Excellence, HCHE partners throughout the state with high school districts, other higher education institutions, state agencies, corporations, foundations and other nonprofits to build and improve pathways to success for often our most vulnerable young people.
