The Sporting Life

The University of Hartford Hawks field 17 NCAA Division 1 teams as members of the America East Conference. The Hawks have captured 48 conference championships, appeared in 31 NCAA tournaments, and have produced 15 academic All-Americans.

Lecture Series

The University of Hartford hosts numerous public lectures and panel discussions each year, covering a broad range of academic disciplines and interests. Lectures are free and open to the public; some require advance registration or tickets.

Summer Camp Programs

UHart offers summer programs through The Summer Place and the Hartt Community Division (HCD). 

Summer Place: UHart offers four summer camp programs for children from pre-school through 11th grade. These programs share a commitment to excellence in curriculum, staff, and facilities, and are based on the premise that learning and fun go hand in hand! Learn more.

A private university advancing the public good.

The Hartford Scholars Program at the University of Hartford provides half-tuition scholarships to students who live in Hartford and graduate from Hartford public high schools or from suburban schools that participate in Project Choice, a state program to improve diversity in suburban school districts. In the two decades since the program’s founding, more than 400 degrees have been awarded. Engaging with the Greater Hartford area

The Center for Community Service serves as a resource for students, alumni, faculty and staff in providing opportunities for civic engagement, volunteerism, and service learning with agencies throughout the Greater Hartford area. Learn about the Center for Community Service.

Making Spring Break memorable

This year, the University of Hartford is sending 35 students and two staff advisors to Eastern North Carolina, as part of UHart’s annual Alternative Spring Break program. The team will collaborate with local agencies and residents to support recovery efforts for a community left devastated by Hurricane Florence in September.

WWUH: A UHart Community Service Since 1968

WWUH, UHart’s Public Alternative Radio, is home to an extensive music library of close to 140,000 LPs and CDs – one of the largest collections in the country. 

The station’s eclectic programming ranges from Morning Jazz and Polka Time to rock ‘n’ roll and gospel, supported by approximately 80 students, faculty, and community volunteers. Learn more about WWUH.
