The University of Hartford recognizes the importance of freedom of expression and supports the rights of individuals to engage in peaceful assembly, demonstrations, classroom speakers, vigils, rallies, marches, protests, and other expressive activities. The University also has a responsibility to maintain a safe, secure, and orderly learning, living, and working environment.
The University's Peaceable Assembly and Expressive Activity Policy establishes reasonable time, place, and manner requirements to protect public safety, preserve University operations, and ensure expressive activities do not interfere with the rights of others.
The policy applies to all students, faculty, staff, contractors, vendors, volunteers, affiliates, guests, visitors, and any other individuals present on University property or participating in University-sponsored activities.
The Peaceable Assembly and Expressive Activity Policy can be viewed in full in the University of Hartford’s student handbook, The Source.
