For Alan Lowe ‘26, earning a college degree wasn’t about following a traditional timeline—it was about finishing a goal years in the making. In May 2026, Lowe graduated from the University of Hartford with a Bachelor of Arts in University Studies, with a focus on Business Studies.

Like many adult learners, Lowe’s path to graduation included pauses as he balanced career and family responsibilities. When he was ready to return to school, the University Studies program provided the flexibility and support he needed to build on the credits he had already earned and complete his degree.

“The University Studies program allowed me to round out the credit hours I had already accumulated with valuable and impactful classes, and motivated me to finish this milestone,” Lowe says.

Throughout his time at Hartford, Lowe found faculty and staff who were invested in his success. “Every single professor and faculty member I communicated with was motivated to help me succeed,” he says. “The University Studies staff made sure I was on track.”

Lowe is proud of what he accomplished and grateful for the support he received. “I’m grateful for the partnership and proud to graduate as a Hawk.”

Now, Lowe plans to continue advancing his career in financial services while pursuing an MBA at Boston University. For him, graduation represents both the fulfillment of a longtime goal and the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
