For Lorenzo Rodrigues, earning his degree from the University of Hartford was about more than checking a box—it was a personal accomplishment that challenged him to grow both professionally and personally. In September 2026, Rodrigues graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in University Studies with a concentration in Finance Studies.

Rodrigues especially valued the opportunity to challenge himself through his coursework. Classes in budgeting, financial analysis, leadership, and business ethics gave him knowledge he could immediately apply to his career, while also helping him become more confident in his role.

“The knowledge I have gained at UHart has impacted my current role,” Rodrigues says. “I have become a better professional, which I believe has strengthened my relationships with my managers and colleagues.”

Although balancing work and school was challenging, Rodrigues found that each course brought a sense of accomplishment and an opportunity to learn something new. “Every course was a challenge, and at the same time every course expanded my knowledge and allowed me to grow personally and professionally,” he says.

Throughout his journey, he also credits his academic advisor, Kellie Westenfeld, with providing consistent guidance and encouragement throughout his journey.

“Whenever I had a question or needed guidance, she was always there to help,” he says.

Now a proud UHart graduate, Rodrigues is looking forward to his next chapter. In Fall 2027, he will return to the University of Hartford to pursue a Master of Business Administration in Supply Chain Management.

His story reflects the personal impact of continuing to learn, taking on new challenges, and believing in what is possible.
